Finished checking out the Bienes store? Well, Newtown and Enmore are full of things to do, haunts to shop and places to eat and drink. 01. The Duke / 148 Enmore Rd

“Enmore’s grooviest pub, made for locals by locals.” Find a rotating schedule of live music performances. Their new kitchen focuses on wood-fired and charcoal eats, made to be shared.

 

02. Great Aunty Three / 115 Enmore Rd

Excellent Vietnamese Street food. Slightly bigger than your standard bakery roll, with some fancy fillings.

 

03. Swop / 116 Enmore Rd

Avoid Fast Fashion! A place to buy, sell and trade quality second-hand items. You can receive cash or credit for pre-loved items.

04. Soulmate / 39 Phillip St

If you’re looking for a bright and friendly cafe, this is the place. Find crowd-pleasers here including a black-sausage sanga, classic bacon-and-egg roll and a vegan tofu scramble.

 

05. Cairo Takeaway / 81 Enmore Rd

No-frills, industrial eatery serving Egyptian street food, including meat plates & pita wraps. The sunny courtyard is the perfect lunch spot. 

 

06. P&V Wine / 64 Enmore Rd

A liquor store that focuses on natural and sustainable wine with organic and bio-dynamic farming the foundation stone. The perfect place to pick up a house-warming gift! 

 

07. Bar Planet / 16 Enmore Rd

A vibrant, aesthetic Martini Bar. Home to 

the Scorpino cocktail a Brie Leon team fave. The insta worthy terrazzo bar top has been created by Australian artist David Humphries!

 

08. Gigi’s Pizzeria / 379 King St

Featuring a Plant-Based menu, whilst staying true to the traditional Italian, Gigi’s uses fresh, quality local produce.

09. Neko Neko / 381 King St

Home to comfort vegan ramen, bentos, salads, and sides, Neko Neko is a vegan friendly Japanese restaurant.

 

10. Repressed Records / 413 King St

Specilisng in local and imported underground and independent music. Here you can find new and second-hand vinyl. There is also a great selection of vintage books!

 

11. Earl’s Juke Joint / 407 King St

Disguised as an old butcher. Behind the façade, hides a rollicking bar honoring the juke joints of the Deep South. The much sought after window seat is the ideal place to spend your evening.

 

12. Tokyo Lamington / 277 Australia St

This bakery is introducing the humble Aussie Lamington to the world, mixing it up with international flavours.

 

13. Westwood / 245 Australia St

A game-changing pizzeria, affiliated with Bella Brutta. The menu updates as produce moves in and out of season, but always covers the basics. With just two staff and one oven, Westwood can only make 150 pizzas a night, so it’s first in best dressed here. 

 

14. Stacks of Wax / 239 Australia St

Operating since 1992, this candle shop is a Newtown icon. Producing an exclusive range of affordable, handmade candles on site, is the perfect spot to spoil yourself or someone else!

15. Thai Pothong / 294 King St

Serving classic Thai cuisine with an extensive cocktail list. The Betel Leaf Prawns are a crowd pleaser.

 

16. Odd Culture / 266 King St

An all-day European dining venue with an Asian flare. A natural wine and ale bar with one a most extensive offering. If all that isn’t enough, the Odd Culture bottle shop lives two doors up.

 

17. Maple Store / 244 King St

Established in 2003, this Newtown Icon is the place to find high quality, premium men’s and women’s denim and fashion. Offering a huge selection of both local and international designers.

18. AP Bakery / 1a Bucknell St

Tucked behind the hustle and bustle of King St, you can find AP Bakery in a quaint red-brick building. The all-day menu offers a mix of options, both sweet and savoury. The bakery even has their own on-site flour mill, ensuring you’re getting the freshest baked goods.

 

19. Ante / 146 King St

Ante depicts the Japanese concept of jazzu kissa, a jazz cafe or bar where customers come for the records as much as they do the drinks. Enjoy a range of snacks and larger plates that pair perfectly with the sake selection.

 

20. Cafe Paci / 131 King St

A Brie Leon team fave, Cafe Paci is the ultimate European style bistro. Head in for a cocktail and a snack, or stick around for a full night of feasting. Either way you won’t regret it!
